To connect the computer to a local network or the Internet, correct parameters need to be specified. Before the system installer tries to identify the required devices automatically, make sure that they are connected and switched on.

The Internet connection may be set up during system installation. To do this, it is suggested to use a regular modem, an ISDN modem, an ADSL connection, a cable modem or simply a LAN (Ethernet) connection.

We will not describe the detailed setup of all these types of configurations here. You simply need to get all the necessary parameters from your provider or network administrator.
