Formatting (creation of a file system) in newly created partitions will be done automatically. Be careful, as all the data in formatted partitions will be lost irreversibly.

At this stage, it is also possible to format some existing partitions in order to delete all data in them. To do this, select these partitions for formatting as well.

It is not necessary to re-format all previously existing partitions. It is only necessary to format the partitions containing the operating system, such as /, /usr and /var, but there is no need to format partitions containing data that you wish to keep, such as /home.

Please be careful when selecting partitions to format. After formatting all data in the selected partitions will be lost irreversibly.

To begin formatting the chosen partitions, press the «OK» button. If you wish to choose a different partition for installation, press the «Cancel».

In order to specify which partitions should be checked for bad blocks, press the «Advanced» button.
